Kumsi is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Shimoga taluk of Shimoga district in Karnataka. This kumsi pepper is very unique. The medium to large size pods grow upwards on short plant as an ornamental variety except this one has very strong sharp flavor and can be classified as very hot. This rare variety can be planted in pots or limited spaces and still set good amount of pods. In addition to being short, prolific, ornamental and tasty, this is one of the few rare varieties where pods may dry on mother plant if left unpicked after ripening which adds more value and use for this strain
